Kamelot = Win.

If you're a fan of metal and you haven't had a chance to check out Kamelot yet, do yourself a favor.

I don't really dig a band unless they have a talented and awesome sounding singer, and this band is no exception. They seriously destroy universes. Roy Khan can hit sing through 5 octaves (rumored) which is pretty incredible.

Finnish Accents

Sean and I just had an epiphany that Finnish singers singing in English produces what I dub the most metal thing ever.

No other country can even come close to the amount of awesome in the sound of a Finnish vocalist singing in English. The accent is just pure metal.

Photography and Voice Lessons

Since Emily got me this new camera I've been taking photos non-stop and managed to sneak in a few good ones here and there! I'm having so much fun with it, I knew I would but never imagined I'd like it this much. This past weekend was my first vocal lesson. It went extremely well and I'm very excited to learn more and get better with my singing. Eventually I'll start recording and maybe post up a piece or two but for now you'll just have to visualize. It's a lot of fun, can't wait to keep it going.

Oh yeah, new blog header, and the waves today destroyed me. Off to nurse my headache!

I Am A Man Of Action.

My New Years Resolution for 2009 is to attempt and try to learn how to sing better. I would love to join a band some day, but that's still iffy. I really only like a band when I like their singer, or their singer is insanely good. So, if I don't like my own singing, I won't like my own band, therefore won't be able to be in one. My track record of liking my own work of any kind isn't all that good so it will take a lot for me to get where I want to be, but today I'm one step closer.

I took the initiative and signed up for vocal coaching today, I start this weekend.

I am a man of action.

I wish I was a power metal singer.

I think my most powerful wish I've had throughout my entire lifetime was that I could have been born with the skill to be a REALLY sick power metal singer. I can sing relatively well right now, but it's nowhere near good enough. I could probably hold my own in a decent band even, but its nowhere near where I want to be. I need to hit Heiman notes, I need to hit Matt Smith notes. I need to hit Toby Sammett notes. Roy Khan even.

YEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Seriously, I want to hit notes for days.

I'm going to start taking lessons this year, New Years Resolution.

Ouch.

This is by FAR the most sore I have ever been in my entire life. I am no stranger to working out hard either. This is insane. I literally can barely walk. My quads are so rediculously tight that I have to crawl down stairs and in/out of my car. I blame the 80's.

In and Out rocks my socks, as does chocolate soy milk.

I sang to a little girl today, for like 5 minutes straight. Opera stylez. Then I tricked another girl into landing a cartwheel on the balance beam. Then I taught a 5 year old how to flex her stomach muscles and she has a harder stomach than me.

No word from LDK yet. Soon I hope.

Time warner cable called me 6 times today. They love me.

Going to be a busy week working on planning out the madness that will be my second shot of class 2, on top of finishing up the first shot from the previous 3 weeks. Q/A and crit tomorrow night...A status?
